1. NO GODMODDING OR MARY-SUE-ISH BEHAVIOR

This is pretty much self-explanatory. Don’t make assumptions for another character in how she or he will react in a situation. In other words, don’t move or speak for a character without clearing it with the player first – even if that character is somehow bound to yours in a BDSM contract. Also, no human is infallible, so please don’t try to pass your character off as the one, lone perfect being on the surface of the planet. Flaws make characters interesting.

Also, remember that this is an AU PANFANDOM game. This means two things: 1)if your character’s AU backstory doesn’t support something, you can’t claim it, even if it’s true in canon. 2) Saying ‘my character is the best at this in my canon’ doesn’t mean that they’re going to be better than someone from another canon at it. Any contest (of any kind) between characters needs to be agreed upon between players, and someone has to be willing to lose.

2. BE ACTIVE!!!

Communities quickly fizzle out if no one participates, so please be as active as possible. Don’t be afraid to engage other players to log a scene, even if you don’t know them very well. Reach out! Take initiative! I promise no one will bite you…unless you ask nicely. ;)

You must complete one full log a month in order to keep your character, and this can be a self-log or a log played out with someone else. What does a “full log” entail? Well, something longer than a couple of short paragraphs, and detail would be very much appreciated.

If something happens in RL and you need to take a hiatus, please leave a comment on the hiatus post to let me know you will be out of commission for a while. Also, if you go more than two months without making a post or informing me of your absence, you will lose your character. If you cannot find the time to complete a log with someone, or even alone, please make a journal type post in your character journal describing the emotional state or desires of your character – only use this as a last resort though.

Message board posts or threads on the message board also count, and they’re a great way to create quick and easy interaction if you don’t have a lot of time to play!

NOTE: Logs being written in docs and not yet posted on the comm can’t be counted by the mods, because WE CAN’T SEE THEM! Be sure that you’re actually POSTING at least one log a month, please, folks! And please use your character tags when you post logs, so that we can easily find them, as the mods will be checking for activity regularly.

3. YOUR CHARACTERS NEED TO BE ACTIVE TO APP MORE

Due to the low activity requirement, an exact limit on characters per player doesn't make a lot of sense. However, because it can be difficult to manage multiple characters, it is required that you play your first two characters for at least two months before apping a third... and so on and so forth...

If activity becomes a problem and you already have three (or more) characters, expect to be poked by a mod to discuss the situation, and possibly asked to drop some.

4. NO UNNECESSARY DRAMA WILL BE ALLOWED

Drama in the game is deliciously wonderful, but drama out of the game just sucks. Seriously; I hate unnecessary wank and drama. If you have a problem with another player, please try to talk things out in a polite manner. If that doesn’t work, then please contact me so that some kind of a resolution can be found.

Issues regarding a person not approving of another’s characterization of his or her character will be ignored, because this is an AU community, and people always interpret characters in individual ways anyways. Therefore, if someone feels another player is “playing” his or her character wrong, well, tough cookies. As long as basic character traits are kept, people are free to play their characters as they see fit.

5. PLAYERS MUST BE 18 TO JOIN AND ALL NC-17 LOGS MUST BE LABELED AS EXPLICIT WHEN POSTED TO THE COMMUNITY

Again, there are no ifs, ands, or buts about this rule. I have properly labeled the community as being one for adults, and all NC-17 entries will be properly labeled as such as well. Therefore, if a person purposefully lies about his or her age to gain access to the community, well, that is NOT the problem of the moderator – I am not a damn babysitter.

All logs that are not properly labeled will automatically be deleted without apologies if the poster does not fix the error within 24 hrs. Because this community explores a lifestyle that is often seen as controversial, it is prudent that members take precaution when posting explicit material to the community so that no random passerby that is offended by our community flags anything in our little playground. If they cannot see the explicit posts, then there is nothing for them to bitch about.

6. DISCRIMINATION OF ANY TYPE WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN

This community will not tolerate any bashing of a person in regard to race, religion, sexual orientation, gender, etc. This is your only warning.

RESPECT PEOPLE. It’s not that hard to do. Sure, people are going to have different views on a lot of things, but this is a community that centers on a game and not debate. Let’s try to abide by the Golden Rule here…uh, the most common version of it anyways since the Golden Rule can be interpreted in various ways depending on a particular region or certain philosophical beliefs.

GOLDEN RULE: DO UNTO OTHERS AS YOU WOULD HAVE THEM DO UNTO YOU.

7. YOU MUST CREATE A CHARACTER JOURNAL

I’m sorry, but creating a character journal is mandatory. It makes organization in logs easier when people play out scenes within the community. Also, people are encouraged to use the character journal as a type of journal for their characters, which can come in handy if RL is eating a player’s time and he or she can only update using the character journal.

8. WE MUST BE ABLE TO CONTACT YOU

The preferred contact method is AIM, which can always be accessed online if you can’t download it for some reason.

In recent times, however, a LOT of plotting has been going on at Plurk. Check the contact page for everyone’s AIM and plurk names, and be sure to get everyone friended at one or both!
